About Richard Marx
For more than two decades, Richard Marx has made an indelible mark on the music community with more than 30 million records sold, thirteen #1 singles, and remained a fixture on pop and adult contemporary radio for years as an artist and producer working with some of the biggest names in the music business. His debut single "Don't Mean Nothing" and multi-platinum, self-titled debut album launched his success as a solo artist, his first #1 single "Hold On To The Nights," as well as a total of four Top 10 singles. His 1989 follow-up CD, "Repeat Offender," went on to sell more than 7 million copies worldwide, two #1 singles "Satisfied" and "Right Here Waiting," and multiple Grammy and American Music Award nominations. His third studio album, "Rush Street," went multi-platinum, included four Top 10 singles and two #1 singles "Hazard" and "Keep Coming Back," and featured special appearances by the late Luther Vandross and Billy Joel. The 1994 release, "Paid Vacation," was his fourth consecutive multi-platinum release with 2 hit singles including the #1 Billboard's Adult Contemporary hit "Now and Forever" which remained at the top of the chart for 11 weeks.

As a singer-songwriter, Marx has had incredible chart and commercial success working with other artists including *NSYNC, Barbra Streisand, Josh Groban, Vince Gill, and the late Luther Vandross. More recently, he has written and produced tracks for Leann Rimes, Emerson Drive, Natalie Cole, Keith Urban, Paulina Rubio, Travis Tritt, Daughtry, Lifehouse, actor Hugh Jackman, and many more.

Since his career began in 1987, Marx has made a commitment to giving back. From donating the royalties from his first hit single, "Should've Known Better," to build a room at the NYU Medical Center where pediatric cancer patients can play while at the hospital; to his 1989 recording, "Children of the Night," about the plight of homeless children on the streets, donating the proceeds to the Children of the Night Foundation, which houses and reforms street kids. To date, the song has raised more than $500,000. Marx has performed benefit concerts for many organizations, including the TJ Martell Foundation, Toys For Tots, Make A Wish Foundation, the American Cancer Society, Best Buddies, and the Special Olympics.

Marx continues to do live performances to sold out audiences world-wide, releasing his own studio albums and writing and producing for many of today's chart toppers.
